In arenas, students flex all the skills they have learned throughout the semester and control their characters known as “heroes” by creating and inputting lines of code written in Python, JavaScript, C++, Lua, or CoffeeScript. Their heroes compete head-to-head in a virtual world to collect resources or achieve other specified objectives. The code they write will run constantly against the code of other players to determine how strong it is. Students are able to continually edit and simulate their code while the tournament is active.
Multiplayer Arenas are available at the start of every competitive season and allow players to compete against team members or opposing teams. Players earn points individually that count toward their own rank. These arenas offer players a chance to practice their skills against other practicing players.
Championship Arenas are available at the end of each season and allow players across age brackets and skill levels to compete for digital and physical prizes.
